Attorney Profile
Patrick Hart's extensive background in construction gives him a unique perspective on the challenges that construction projects pose to owners, contractors and design professionals, and gives him, and our firm, a distinct advantage in representing our clients in construction-related matters. Prior to law school, Patrick spent eight years working for commercial building contractors. As a superintendent for a general contractor, he supervised commercial construction projects ranging from chain restaurants to shopping malls, office buildings and industrial facilities. He also spent two years as manager of operations for a commercial concrete contractor, in which position he coordinated the company's field operations, oversaw up to 120 workers, and managed up to 20 different projects simultaneously. In addition to dozens of commercial foundations (including super-flat slabs), his projects included building a runway and control tower for Cannon Air Force Base, paving a section of the Albuquerque arroyo system, completing sections of concrete paving on the Highway 44/550 renovation, completing a tilt-up building for the Espanola Public Schools, and building underground parking structures. This experience with both public and private construction projects has proven to be invaluable in the various construction litigation cases he has helped tackle for our clients. In addition to knowing how to read a set of plans and accurately analyze critical path method schedules, Patrick knows the importance to all parties of getting a project finished on time and in budget. He also knows the numerous problems that can arise on any construction project. This insight helps us to pinpoint the best litigation strategy in a construction-related case to achieve the best outcome possible for our clients. Patrick began working with the Sheehan firm as a law clerk in June, 2005, and became an associate upon being sworn into the New Mexico Bar in September, 2007.
